Privacy policy

This policy explains what Quilt & Quiet collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. Quilt & Quiet is published by Type 5 Marketing LLC.

What we collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and which links are used. It sets cookies and collects a device identifier, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the affiliate links you click. We see this in aggregate. We do not attempt to identify individual visitors and we do not upload any personal identifiers to Google.

Google processes this data as described in Google's privacy policy. You can opt out across all sites using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block analytics with your browser's tracking protection or an extension. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.

Affiliate links

Commercial links on this site pass through our own address and then to the retailer, which sets its own cookie so it can attribute a purchase to us. We record that a link was clicked and which page it was on. We do not receive your name, your address, your payment details or what you bought — only, eventually, whether a commission was earned. Once you arrive at the retailer, that retailer's privacy policy governs what happens next, not this one.

The contact form

If you use the contact form we receive the name, email address and message you type, and we keep them so we can reply and so we can act on any correction you have flagged. The form is protected against automated spam by a hidden field, a timing check and a per-address rate limit — no captcha, and no third-party tracking script.

Hosting logs

Our host records standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. These are retained on their normal schedule and are not used to build any profile of you.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
• We do not run advertising networks or retargeting pixels.
• We do not have accounts, logins or user profiles.
• We do not ask for or store payment details — every purchase happens on the retailer's site.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Cookies

The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics measurement cookies. Retailers set their own cookies when you follow an affiliate link. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works normally without them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to it. To exercise any of them, email info@quiltandquiet.com and tell us what you want. Because we hold very little — realistically, an email you sent us — most requests are quick to satisfy.

If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA. If you are in the EU or UK, our lawful basis for analytics is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, and for contact-form data it is taking steps at your request.

Links to other sites

This site links out to retailers, government agencies and standards bodies. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and we would encourage you to read the policy of any site you land on.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update it here and change the date at the top of the page. There is no mailing list to notify, because we do not run one.
